24 & 8 Hours Of SoCal
​ Rules and regulations

- 24 Hours of ride time is what we race for the 24 HOurs Of SoCal. Races start at a given time and end 24 Hours Later. Please note Some races may occur on Day Light savings weekend. Times will reflect accordingly.
- 8 Hours of ride time is what we rce for the 8 Hours of SoCal. Races start at a given time and end 8 hours later.
- Teams consist of the given number of riders dependant upon the category in registration. IE a 2 person team consists of 2 racers. An open team consists of any gender or age makeup for the team. A Female or ladies team consists of all female racers. A male team consists of all make racers. A singlespeed team consists of all racers racing on single speed bicycles ( 1 gear per bike ). An age group team consists racers within that age group only for that category. IE Jr 12-18 must be racing age 12-18 to race in that category. Racing age is determined by the age that you are on December of the year racing. 
- All team members must attempt at least 1 lap for the team to be counted. It must be a legit attempt at a lap!
- Teams may develop their own strategies and lap orders. Team members may go in any order designated by the team. All team members must do 1 lap minimum. 
- Their is no minimum or maximum time allowed per lap. If it takes you 3 hours to complete 1 lap that is fine. If it takes you 24 hours to complete 2 laps that is fine. You must be done by 24 hours on the dot.
- All team members must make transitions at the timing center. Anyone not transitioning at the timing center will be charged a penalty and the lap will not be counted.
- Bicycles used for racing must be in good working order and safe. Racers may use multiple bikes while racing. NO ELECTRIC OR MOTORIZED BIKES MAY BE USED DURING THE 24 HOUR RACE. When switching bikes, racer must carefully remove and replace their number plates onto their next bicycle. It is the racers responsibility to not damage or destroy the number plate with timing chip embedded on the back. If the racer causes the timing chip to not work, the racer will be charged an additional fee for a new plate.
- All racers will start in mass at the beginning of the race. 
- All racers will attend the mandatory pre race meeting.
- Racers will follow the designated course markings outlined by the race officials.
- All teams will pit in designated pit zone areas. 
- All racers and teams are responsible for cleaning up their trash.
- All racers are responsible for cleaning up their racing nutritional product trash while on course. This is to include water bottles. Any racer caught littering on course will get a time penalty.
- Racers can take as much time in between laps that they need to recover and head out for another lap. Remember the race ends at 24 hours on the dot! 
- If a racers has a mechanical or is forced to leave the course during a lap, he/she must return at the exact spot they left the course for the lap to count. 
- If a racer fails to complete a lap, that partial lap will not count.
- Racers are responsible for food and water during the races. There will be water stations available, but it is the racers responsibility to stay fed and hydrated.
- Mandatory lights will be designated by race director at the pre race meeting. All racers must have operational and efficient lights to ride in the dark.
- Cheating in any form will not be tolerated. All incidents of cheating will be handled by the race director, consequences will ensue!
- All complaints, protests, and /or problems will be handled by the race director.
- Safety is our foremost goal. Please be safe and ride within your abilities.
